What data do we collect?

Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information collected (such as pages visited, duration of the visit, approximate location at city level, device and browser type) is generally transferred to a Google server — possibly in the United States — and stored there. Your IP address is truncated before storage ("shortening of IP addresses"), so no direct personal identification takes place.

Google Analytics is used on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. Where required, consent is obtained beforehand (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 TDDDG). You can prevent the collection by adjusting your browser settings or blocking cookies. The storage period of the data is governed by the settings in the Google Analytics account; you can find more information in Google's privacy policy.

Google Ads and conversion measurement

This website advertises on Google Ads, and visits coming from Google Ads are measured so that the advertising spend can be evaluated. Google's Conversion Linker stores a click identifier (for example the "gclid" parameter) in a first-party cookie so that a later signup or purchase can be attributed to the ad click that led here. When you complete the assessment, the Reset signup, or a purchase, a pseudonymous conversion event (without your name or email address) is sent to Google Analytics and, from there, imported into the Google Ads account. Google Ireland Limited is the recipient; data may also be processed by Google LLC in the United States under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (measuring the effectiveness of our own advertising); where consent is required, it is obtained beforehand (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 TDDDG).

Internal statistics

For its own operations, this website records page views and interactions (for example clicks on the assessment) in its own database. These records contain a random session identifier, the page visited, the device class (mobile/tablet/desktop), the referring website and — where present — the advertising source of the visit. No name, no email address and no full IP address are stored in this system, and the data is not shared with third parties. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (secure and efficient operation and improvement of this website).

YouTube videos

Some pages embed videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited / YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA). When you open a page containing an embedded video, content is loaded directly from YouTube's servers and YouTube may set cookies and collect data about your visit (including your IP address), regardless of whether you press play. The videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode where available. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (presenting video content on our pages); where consent is required, it is obtained beforehand (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 TDDDG). Email marketing (ActiveCampaign)

When you sign up for the assessment results, the free Tinnitus Reset, the Tinnitus Club, or another offer, your name (where given), your email address and the content of your submission (for example your assessment answers) are stored in the email marketing system ActiveCampaign, LLC, 1 N Dearborn St, Chicago, IL 60602, USA. The data is used to send you the materials you requested and — where you have consented — related emails about tinnitus and the program. Each contact carries tags describing your interests and the page the signup came from, so that the emails you receive match your situation. Data transfers to the United States take place under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time) and, for existing customers, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link; after unsubscribing your address is no longer used for marketing.

Transactional emails

System emails such as the delivery of your assessment results or the weekly report are sent through the operator's managed email infrastructure (notify.tinnituscoachfrieder.com). Only the data needed to deliver the email (recipient address, delivery status) is processed for this purpose.

Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Once the purpose is fulfilled or the retention period expires, data is deleted or anonymised in accordance with applicable regulations.

Hosting and third-party services

This website is hosted via third-party infrastructure. Server logs may be collected by the hosting provider for operational and security purposes. Any third-party services integrated into this site (e.g., analytics, video embeds) are subject to their own privacy policies.
